Tuning the Room

So now I have a room built with insulated ceiling and walls to keep outside sound out and inside sound in. But floors, walls and ceiling are a bunch of hard surfaces that bounce sound around, inappropriate for mixing and producing music at a professional level. It is a balancing act of absorbing enough sound (specifically frequencies) to prevent sound from arriving at my ears from more than one location, and not making the room too un-naturally dead sounding. Wall Panels are strategically placed to absorb mid - high frequencies. Bass traps are placed in corners where artificial bass tends to build up. This will be somewhat of an ongoing process for a while as we constantly monitor, check and adjust to finely tune the listening environment.
